Paddle Boarding

This week in Room One we went to camp in Westport.

My favourite part of camp, was paddle boarding. I really enjoyed how relaxed and calm the water was. It was really interesting seeing the fish and whitebait swimming underneath the board.

Floating down the river felt weird at first but then I got used to it after a while. Jack Rowe, Isaac and I were in the front most of the time, which was surprisingly fun because we were racing each other.

Going under the Buller Bridge was kind of scary, hearing the echoes of the cars and of the water crashing against the poles.

At the end of the river when we finished Paddle boarding we all went for a refreshing swim which we all really enjoyed.

In Room 2

On Wednesday, Room 2 went to Dixon Park and had some hot chips there. It was exciting there and there was a flying fox. It wasn't really fun because it was a small one. There was this circle that everyone sat on and spun around. Everyone loved it because it was going to fling off. After that, Room 2 drove to Greymouth swimming pool. It was really amazing there. The year 3s and over could go on the deap side and year 1s and 2s stayed on the swallow end. We were underwater touching the bottom and some people were racing from side to side. When the sprinklers went off, the water dropping from the buckets were knocking everyone's goggles off. There was also this water sprayer when it was spraying and ekoed inside. Then everyone drove back to school and it wasn't home time so everyone had a little bit more fun outside.

Room 1 Camp

Bang! Crash! As I on the paddle board I feel the water hit me. I feel alive. The only thing that is going through my head is how refreshing the water will be. Splash! I fall in. A gigantic smile runs through my face.

I feel refreshed. As the salty aerated water runs down my throat I gag. I see the slimy, green rocks at the bottom of the water.I hear people yell in the distance. It was an exhilarating experience.

Bang the race starts. I whooped off the diving board my
friends shouting at me! All I here is Go! Go! Go! We can win this! I'm so under pressure.I can just smell  that bubbly, salty, gooey chlorine. Just listening to the carbonated water I can't do it I just can't. Yes you can someone says to me in my head. My mind is exploding with thoughts. I won! I won!

We Are Learning To Write Descriptive Writing

   Sunset
In the holidays my family and I  went to the beach and watched the sunset.

I step onto the beach. Pink and orange clouds as the sunset takes place. The warm breeze feels like a blanket over me. My head leans to the side as I relax. The sun slowly  goes down then disappears and went dark and quite.

" I wonder what tomorrow's sunset will be like" I say to myself.

The room was a mess

The room was mess

A mountain of clothes making a misty feeling in the air. There was mountains of stuff on the floor, no longer being able to see the carpet. Makeup and Lego bits scattered all around the room. Everywhere I looked, looked like a bomb of makeup and lego exploded leaving a mess all around. The carpet in the room looked like dust mites lurking in it. It felt like I was stuck in a rubbish dump. The room was misty, dusty and damp I could barely breathe.Related image

Saturn

                        Saturn

My amazing gymnastics writing

Welcome to the stage Jamielee Sanson please make your mark on the floor. I popped out of the crowd and leaped on the gymnastics floor.
The floor was hard as concrete. I can hear my heart beating like thunder going boom boom. This was new to me. I can hear the silence of the crowd wondering if I'm going fail or not. You can do it Jamie saying to myself in a whisper. I could smell the dusty dirty floor. I saw the crowd with disbelief faces. Then I jumped into action and flipped into the upside down splits. I don't want to hit the ground. I can do it then for some reason it was over. I landed on my feet like a champion gymnast landing a triple double flip. I couldn't believe it suddenly the crowd went wild I heard cheering from all around the room I heard it everywhere.

What I found challenging about this writing was not to write a story. By Jamielee
And the thing I loved about writing gymnastics is that I really enjoy doing it during lunch limes and morning teas

Mars

Mars

Mars is in our solar system. It is 6780 km in diameter which is half the size of Earth.  This makes it the second smallest planet in our Solar System. Mars is 227.8 million km from the sun.  It is the fourth planet from the sun. it is the last inner planet. It takes 687 days for mars to orbit the sun.

Mars looks different than other planets. On  Mars there are two moons called Phobos and Deimos. Mars has a volcano called Olympus which is 27 km in height and is 3 times taller than Mount Everest. Mars is called the red planet because the colour of mars is blood red.
Mars is made out of rock iron and dust.
Mars history goes back a long way. It is named after the roman god of war. An Italian astronomer called Galileo was the first person to see Mars with a telescope. It can be seen in the night sky without the use of a telescope. Mariner 9 got launched on to mars in may 30 1971.

We were learning to use topic sentences and describe some of the characteristics and fetchers of the different components of the solar system

I was scared, but i was brave and proud of myself. My heart was beating so fast like thunder.i see people bow at me.

My Amazing Descriptive Writing.

Oh my goodness, look at that thing it's huge! My eyebrows are curling over my eyes as im squinting as my mouth drops to the ground. This is the biggest creature I have ever seen in my whole life, But it's also the grossest. Its big and black with heaps of legs and its has hair sticking up off of its head. At first I didn't even think this is real. My hands are shaking as my brain is sending a tingling sensation down through my spine. My knees don't want to be standing up anymore they are shaking and wobbling too much. My legs automatically start moving backwards away from whatever that thing is. I don't want to be near it anymore, I have never seen that thing before.

I kinda found it hard to think of some of the bigger words i have used, i thought to myself i haven't really ever used these words so im going to use them. i enjoyed writing this bit of writing because i like kinda challenging things so i think this was kinda fun. When i have heaps of words in my head i just like to put them all out into a doc.

Descriptive writing

WALT:write descriptive writing

As I popped up I taste the salty bubbly, aerated, foamy water.
My feet just landed on the sticky slippery surfboard.
I smell the wet seaweed. it smells as bad as dirty rubbish.
As I stuck my head up   I stopped for a minute as I smiled my face is aching.
I feel like my face is splitting apart.
